One of the most important factors in maintaining good oral hygiene is brushing your teeth. By brushing we achieve the removal of the dental plaque that is responsible for caries (tooth decay) and the appearance of periodontal disease (gingivitis or periodontitis).
Unfortunately, it is not enough to just brush our teeth, but we must do it right. If the brushing is not done in the right way then we just play with the toothbrush.
Rules for proper brushing:
During brushing we keep our mouth slightly open so that we brush the upper teeth separately and the lower teeth separately. At no time should the toothbrush touch the upper and lower teeth at the same time.
The toothbrush on each jaw rests on the point between the teeth and the gums (gingival fissure) with a slight inclination towards the gums. Normally, we should talk about brushing our teeth and gums.
The movement of the toothbrush is slightly smooth circular. We do not make big moves, we do not put force and we do not move up and down or back and forth
.
We do not leave a single tooth or gum surface without brushing it.
For this we follow a specific order which is as follows: We start behind the last tooth of the lower jaw on the outside of the teeth and slowly move the toothbrush along the line between the gums and the teeth until we reach behind the last tooth on the other hand.
We do the exact same movement from the inside of the teeth and a third time on the chewing surfaces of the teeth (the ones that come in contact when we chew). The same process is repeated in the upper jaw.
After we are done with the gums and teeth, the soft tissues of the mouth are in order,
which we must include in our daily brushing. So we brush the inner surfaces of the cheeks, the lips and the dorsal surface of the tongue as far back as we can. Brushing the tongue is very important in combating bad breath.
We will close this article by solving a common question. What kind of toothbrush should we use? Soft, medium or hard. With special call or without? The answer is extremely simple. What is required is a toothbrush that is as soft and simple as possible.
Especially for the hard toothbrushes I have to say that their position is exclusively next to the camels and they are suitable exclusively for brushing our shoes!
